In the Warm Dark of Night

At the end of this blog post is a link to an open creativity blogging challenge – any support is appreciated!

It’s been a while since I uploaded something creative from myself. The following is a small poem I thought of perhaps a couple of weeks ago now, when I was struggling to sleep. I realised I was just trying to make time go slower before I had to work in the morning and was filled with stress. However, you should never sacrifice sleep (I’m so sorry my beautiful bed)! It’s definitely one of the most peaceful things to do.Β

Finally I’m back into my little routines and happy to upload this poem. Hope you enjoy.

In the Warm Dark of Night

Often I’ll be standing at the centre of the room,

Late to dream

Eyes stricken with the moon,

Still as possible though the stars sweep the sky,

I try so hard to stop the hands of time.

Every time it fails and in fear I’m drowned,

Anticipating the day that’s coming around.

One more gone from the first impression,

That lost my chance to climb out of depression.

So still at night, I’ll stand with the moon,

And know that wolves will save me soon.

As usual I will probably create a video for this sometime in the near future, so if you would like to see the poem more visually don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube >here<. For a taster, and in case you missed it, this is the last one I did which I’m quite proud of to be honest!

As promised, I also have something exciting for you! Recently My Bookish Life has announced her very own blogging challenge – The Typewriter Project. If you want to be more creative over the next couple of weeks you should definitely check it out >here<. I will be participating (and am very excited about it) so it will be a great way for us to get to know each other and the wider blogosphere! Anyway, I’ll hope to see lots of you there 😘
